st! Discover the secrets ofSportsInvestors

Successful sports gamblers view the sports betting marketplace like a business or investment opportunity.   How do the "sharp bettors" profit in the long run?   How do they get their edge?     We look at how professional money managers earn long-term excess returns and how we can apply similar techniques to help us in our sports handicapping.

Some investors seek value by being contrarian investors.   Others are momentum investors.   Another strategy is to follow the leadHow to actually profit from sports betting through money management of "smart investors" such as successful fund managers or famous investors like Warren Buffett.   We'll see what similarities we can find in the sports investing arena.   The information on this site is for entertainment and educational purposes only.  Use of this information is in violation of any federal, state, or local laws is prohibited.  Many will dismiss outright the ability to make good returns on your investment through the medium of sports betting.  It is not really surprising as betting is hard work, solitary, and you have to grind out thousands of bets to get your returns.
Of course to many members of society - betting also carries a great big "loser" tag.  This is not without justification since the vast majority of sports bettors do lose.  I would, however, estimate that the percentage of "losers" would be equally high in the world of stock trading and investment markets if you considered those individuals who entered that environment without the necessary experience. Most people trust their savings and investment income to experts and no doubt if the betting public
trusted their income to the 4% or 5% of betting experts who made a profit - the loser label might become less sticky.
SO WHAT KIND OF RETURNS CAN YOU EXPECT?

Generally I have found that sports betting produces bettor, average returns year on year. It is tougher psychologically as you generally act in a lone capacity. No corporate social or support structure, no team environment. But then no bosses, politics, you know the score. Betting is also virtually recession proof, lets face it only a huge war might disrupt the national sports schedule. Sports markets are not influenced by the economy. You will love it or hate it

THE INELLIGENT GAMBLER NEVER BETS FOR THE SAKE OF BETTING.  HE BETS ONLY ON GAMES THAT HE HAS A DECIDED ADVANTAGE TO HIM, THAT IS CALLED DISCIPLINE.   YOU'VE NO DOUBT HEARD OF THE CLASSIC SYMPTOM AFFICITING INEPT GAMBLERS, THEY CANNOT SEEM TO GET INTERESTED IN A GAME, ANY GAME UNLESS THEY HAVE SOMETHING RIDING ON IT....I HOPE I'M NOT DESCRIBING YOU...I HOPE YOU CAN SIT BACK ...RELAX AND ENJOY A GAME ON TV WITHOUT BETTING ON IT....YOU SIMPLY MUST WAGER ON ONLY YOUR STRONGEST SELECTIONS...A GOOD GAMBLER CAN LOOK AT ALL OF THE WEEK'S GAMES AND DECIDE AGAINST BETTING ON A SINGLE CONTEST.  THAT IS CALLED DISCIPLINE...DISCIPLINE...THE POOR GAMBLER JUST HAS TO HAVE ACTION.

Becoming a handicapper and a professional Gambler goes hand and hand it is like an athlete and his coach is not much different from building a successful business. You need to develop and implement a business plan.  This is what i have done in the last 30 years of my life....first a professional gambler for 18 years and for the last 12 years, a professional/gambler/handicapper since 1996.  I have joined forces with two other professional gambler/handicappers to start..AFICIONADO SPORTS...IN 2000...We have gathered the best information that the internet, newspaper, sports magazines can (MoneyManagement) provide into our data base.  At Aficionadosports.com ...we are your source for the best handicapping on the internet.  Our success, on a local level, in college football and NFL football handicapping has led to the creation of this site.  Sharing our knowledge of the sport while providing an exclusive sports consulting service to our clients.

NOTE:  We have gatheed the best information that the internet, newspaper, sports magazine can provice into our database.

Each week, we update all NFL teams records against the spread.  Keep an eye on both the good teams and the bad teams.  Good teams are likely to win games straight up but bad teams are more likely to cover as pointspreads are based on public perception.  By educating yourself about how this works, you can change from a losing to a winning sports bettor and increase your winning percentage in a big way!

The first thing you need to understand is that nature of what a real handicapper does and how it can benefit you.  Sports handicapping is a predictive science, and as such is similar to professions like stock advisers or weathermen.  What we do is utilize our expertise and knowledge to interpret data to find wagering value that will allow us to profit in the sports wagering marketplace.  Basically, its a function of experience, knowledge and hard work,Making daily adjustments leads to a profitable season."

Welcome to AFICONADOSPORTS an PRO/COLLEGE handicapping site offering PRO/COLLEGE picks   has us produce over 55% TO 60% winners each of the past 9 seasons...

The Dictionary.com web site says:
"Gamble: To bet on an uncertain outcome, as of a contest. To take a risk in the hope of gaining an advantage or a benefit."
"Invest: To commit money or capital in order to gain a financial return."
Again, the distinction isn't clear. In investing, are you not betting on an uncertain outcome? Are you not taking a risk in the hope of gaining an advantage or benefit? In gambling, are you not committing money? Are you not doing it in order to gain a financial return?

At AFICIONADO.SPORTS, we use a comprehensive, method to arrive at the most accurate predictions available anywhere. We start by using a sophisticated computer program developed by our programmers, which translates raw statistical data into projected scores. These computer projections are then forwarded to our team of experienced analysts to be further analyzed. Our analysts combine these computer projections with their years of handicapping exp.
With a subscription to any of our premium   NFL pick packages, you get   access to our very   affiliate sponsor   Game Matchups and   as well as access to ATS trends, stats, and standings dating all the way back to the   2005 season! Our members also get exclusive access to the   AFICIONADO. SPORTS-ATS Power Rankings. =============================================

Sports handicapping investing is the act of investing your money in sports, not gambling.  There are variable differences between these 2 entities.  Sports Investing allows you to build a solid bankroll over time much like a stock market or mutual fund, and propagates strong financial gain over time.  Gambling involves much more risks and promises extremities of positive or negative gain.

When investing in sports handicapping a detailed portfolio is key to maintaining and building your bankroll.  While operationally, your portfolio is not literally making you money on your sports investment bets, but keeping a detailed log of your bets and per game allocation is critical in the evolution of your bankroll.

During these tough economic times many traditional (investment) such as stocks have been losing money at an alarming rate. One tried and true method of supplementing your...income or even a way of making huge profits full time is sports investing. What is sports investing? Simple it is placing wagers on sporting events and making a profit over time. Simular to what investors do in the stock market. Sports investing is gambling but not in the traditional method one may think. The traditional sports ...bettor is a person who bets for the thrill or the hope of winning big on one or two games a week. These bettors will eventualy lose there money sooner or later. A sports investor is a person who bets small amounts of a "bankroll" over time and increases there bankroll in the long run.

You do not need to know anything about sports or even..(sports betting) to start. The first thing to do is find a professional handicapper to tell you who to bet on. Once you have a good professional handicapper you will need a bankroll to use in your bets. You can start out with as little as a $1000. I recomend at least $5000 to begin and as with anything the more you have in your bankroll the more you can win. It is very important to manage your money and your handicapper will explain his ..(money managenment) system to you. Most cappers will rate there picks from with the being his best bet. You should bet a small percentage of your bankroll per Bet. Usualy it will be 3% of bankroll per  money management  system.

Choose your handicapper wisely. You will need a capper who wins over 55% of the time to make any money. Also the price the capper charges for his picks will also be a factor in how much you can make over time. Remember this is a long term investment and your capper will have win streaks as well as losing streaks. ..managenment is the key to making a profit.

Finding a good reliable professional handicapper is the hardest part of sports investing.

    SPORTS HANDICAPPING

    Sporting Event Angles

Sports handicapping takes lots of time and dedication to detail to be successful. The casual bettor will look at a sporting event they like usually based on their favorite teams or the local team because they can get information easily on them. Professional sports handicappers look at the sporting event quite differently. They look deep into the games to get several angles to find an edge on a game. Here are just a few items that the pro will examine to find the edge:

    1. Strength of the team – how are they performing at home, away, against particular teams, in certain weather conditions? What is the team’s strength in the sport that separates them from other teams?

    2. Box scores – The final score rarely tells the story of the game.  By studying box scores, the pro gets a read on the game flow to see how the teams perform during the game. Does the team jump to an early lead and then blow it late? Are they effective at defending a lead? Are they a come from behind team?

3.Trends – What are the trends for the team?  Are they on a solid win streak?  Why? Are they underperforming given the talent they have? How do they perform on different number of days rest?  The pros look for the trend of each team and how that compares to their opponent.

4.Match ups and Stats -- How have the teams performed against each other or against similar teams in similar situations? Are there consistent stats that set one team apart from the other besides the record or final scores? Bottom line, how do the teams mat up compared to the odds maker’s line?

    5. Coaches and personnel – Do the players seem to play to the level of their competition? Are the coaches effective in training and coaching the team? Are the systems working for the team?  Are they especially young? Experienced?

Frankly, the casual bettor does not have the time or the dedication needed to effectively evaluate the different angles of sports handicapping to make a wise choice on games to bet on each day or week. Remember, you have to win 53% of the time against the point spread to win money in sports betting. Baseball would be the exception since there are plenty of underdog plays that are in your favor. Enter the professional sports handicapper.

    Sports Handicapping Serivces

Using a sports handicapping service becomes a tempting prospect for the casual bettor. For a daily, weekly, monthly, seasonal or annual fee, the handicapper will eat, sleep, drink and breathe sports and sports odds so you can relax and watch the games without guessing if you made the right choice on a game or not – you have hired a pro to handle those headaches. Many casual bettors are leery of depending on a sports service for picks to bet their hard-earned money. You could look at it as gambling on the sports handicapper or you can view it as investing in a highly researched and analyzed sporting event. How do you pick the right handicapper? What are some things to watch out for?Keep reading, my friend.

    Sports Handicapping Research

In choosing a handicapper, you should carefully research the services. Several sources will provide you statistics on handicappers and reveal strengths in certain sports, consistency over time, and a general feel of what you can expect. You could also choose to sign up for a short term and simply WATCH the capper and how he performs, without risking any more money than what it cost you for a week or a month subscription. In any case, know what you are getting into. Call them and ask questions. Get comfortable with the service before you make a big commitment to them.

    High Winning Percentage Touts

Be VERY wary of services that tout their unbelievable 80% winning percentage. Anyone can go 80% over a SHORT period of time. If they are touting that their experts hit over 75% every week and every year, run as fast as you can. The truth is that the TOP sports handicappers in the country hit 59% - 63% of their picks. The trick is to find one that does it consistently over time. It is easier to hit 65% on your sports handicapping over one season of one sport, but how do they perform over all sports over extended periods of time?

    Handicapping High Roller Clubs

If you have been gambling, you have received the calls … the ones touting they have THE man that will turn your season around in a couple of weeks. Some will even present you to another “top” man that has the inside track to sure winners. BUT, it will cost you... to the tune of $1,000 - $5,000 per week. Did you see the movie “Two for the Money” with Matthew McCougnahey and Al Pacino? You got it. These guys are in that scam game. Again, run for your life from these sports handicappers. They are a fraud and truly give the rest of us a bad name.

    Sports Handicapping Pick Release Timing

Many cappers out there will have you call in 30 minutes or less prior to an event to get the picks. This puts you at not only a disadvantage, but also makes you rush to make your betting decisions. In this situation, you are more likely to bet more money than you should or simply not pay attention to the bet you place because you are trying to beat the start of the game. Avoid these type of releases. If the handicapper is a true pro, the analysis will be done by mid morning or mid afternoon – well in advance of the game time.

    Capping the Handicappers

Now here is an approach that makes sense – get picks from several handicappers, read their analysis and pick the games that sound the best based on the write up. Better yet, pick the one or two games that they all agree. Sounds like a winning sports handicapping strategy, right? Well you had better have plenty of extra cash if you choose to do this. The amount of money you will have to put up to win the games needs to cover not only the amount of money you want to win on the game, but also the money you had to pay the handicapping service to get the pick. Now, if you want to make $100 but you bought daily picks from 4 handicappers at $30 a piece with -110 odds against the spread, you have to bet nearly $250 to make your $100 profit. Doesn’t sound like a good risk/reward trade off to me – it simply sounds expensive. Find one capper you like and buy the season or the year and stick with them.

Switching Sports Handicappers After a Bad Week

Listen, EVERYONE in this business has hot weeks and cold weeks.  There is simply no way around it. What is important is how the handicapper recovers after a bad week and how consistent they are over the season or the calendar year. If you constantly switch from one capper to another, you are actually hurting your odds of being successful. Not to mention the amount of money it will cost you. Again a low risk/reward situation. Be patient and stick with the system. If the sports handicapper is worth the money you paid, you will be successful in the end.

What to Look for in a Professional

Like any business, honesty, integrity and hard work is the best formula for success. Dedication to knowing the items we listed above is what will set one handicapper (or scamdicapper) apart from another. You need a comfort level that your handicapper is on top of the sports he covers as well as his ability to get the information to you in time for you to take ad antae of the angle providing the edge to win. Remember, 60% is a great winning percentage, 53% makes you money. Do not expect to make a fast buck and get out. It simply is a recipe for disaster. If you like sports betting, set money aside for it and stick with a smart money management and sports betting system.

    Sports Handicapping with Integrity

The bottom line is that you need to find an honest and reliable sports handicapping service to succeed in sports betting if you are a casual bettor. You can make it a go on your own, but your odds of consistently winning is low. Be sure you treat it as entertainment and bet accordingly. For sports handicapping services, you should expect consistency and honesty in a service that help you be successful.
